By Students.
For Students.
Students Herald is a student-run online publication created to give students a place to write, research, create and be heard.
We believe students shouldn't have to wait until they're adults to explore the world around them or express what they think about it.
Learning to Think, Not What to Think
“We believe in giving students the tools to think, research and form their own views.”
Information today is everywhere. It reaches young minds in an unrelenting flow through websites, social media platforms, short-form videos, instant messages, and daily peer conversations.
Yet having access to facts does not automatically yield understanding. Far too often, digital information is incomplete, unverified, presented without historical context, or subtly blended with personal opinion.
Students Herald exists to build thoughtful discernment. We encourage young writers to question deeply, research systematically, verify facts before accepting claims, and comprehend the subtleties of any issue before they write.
Built by Students, Shaped by Ideas
Students Herald is designed to be run primarily by students. Students can submit articles and other work, while the student editorial team decides what is suitable for publication.

If a student has an interesting idea, we want them to be able to bring it forward.
Freedom With Responsibility
Students Herald welcomes different opinions and subjects, but published work should be based on genuine effort and factual accuracy. Criticism should focus on ideas, decisions, policies or issues rather than personal attacks.
“We don’t want everyone to think alike.”
We want students to have the freedom to think for themselves while learning to support what they say.
More Than a Website.
A Place to Build Something of Your Own.
Every published article can become part of a student’s portfolio, showing their interests, research and writing over time.
Student-Led, Responsibly Supported
Students Herald is student-led, but it isn’t unsupervised. Teachers and designated school moderators help maintain a safe and responsible environment, while leaving the editorial direction of the publication to its student team.
Teachers are also welcome to contribute their own writing, with their contributions clearly identified.
Growing One Voice at a Time
Students Herald begins with students from our own school community. Our aim is to grow gradually, bringing together students from more schools and eventually creating a wider network of young writers, editors and contributors.
As we grow, we hope to expand into more languages and create more opportunities for students to explore their own regional histories, cultures and perspectives.
Students should not only consume information.
They should learn to investigate it, create it and contribute to it.
