Look around you , people are in their winter arcs , locking in for the midterms or even just putting any effort into doing anything. The mindset that this generation has is a bit backwards, but this article will tell you why being productive and working hard in 2026 is a white lie. Coming from a lazy person, this is probably the best advice you’ll ever hear.
Doesn’t everything that’s supposed to hype you up start with history? Maybe, maybe not… I’m too lazy to check anyways. Many inventions were driven by laziness. Too lazy to carry heavy
stuff? BOOM, wheels. Too lazy to crawl to the TV? BOOM, TV remotes. Too lazy to open a door? BOOM, automatic sliding doors. I could name more, but you get what I’m trying to say. Being lazy
has benefited the world just as much as being hardworking. Maybe you could invent something someday—it’s never too late to do the right thing, dear.
Everyone continuously says, “ Work smart, not hard ” However, that advice has a catch. After working smart, you’ve got extra time compared to if you had worked hard. Now, you have to ask
the difficult question: With all this extra time, do I work HARDER? Absolutely not , but it’s what people do anyways , knowingly or unknowingly. In fact, working harder with free time is offensive and will not be tolerated by the lazy community. YOU’RE CANCELLED!!
Now instead of lecturing you like any motivational speaker would, here’s actually what you should do to be a part of the new meta.
Step 1: 0 degree incline – An extremely popular way to be lazy. In simple words, lay your body flat across a plain surface and rest as well as you can. Don’t get this confused with sleep however because sleeping actually counts as doing something which is against the rules. The benefit of this is that if you choose to stand up, then you must use your lower body muscles to support your weight. Whereas, the 0 degree incline puts no stress whatsoever on the muscles.
Step 2: Strategic delaying – Also a brilliant way to be lazy is strategic delaying. Completely ignoring something you have to do is an amazing way of getting relief in the short term. If that
short term does expire , you can use this same method in the next short term phase you reach. An unethical way to make this even more dangerous is by pretention , a word I made (pre-tension: pretending to attend) . This creates a false scenario in the mind of the viewer that you are working hard while you are in fact winning in life.
Step 3: Tactical deafness – An underrated method of being lazy, truly. When someone calls your name to do something, wait for precisely 45 seconds so that they ignore you and just do it themselves. If they do come and call you in person, you must use the tactic of pretention we discussed earlier. In simple words, “I’m a bit busy now” … ASTONISHING!!
You know, at first I was going to write a poetic ending to this masterpiece but typing so much has drained my energy and has fortunately activated my lazy tingle. I will now return to my 0 degree incline. Goodbye.
